Dupe Scams starting up!
We have scammers in gw now, who are selling "dupe programs" That they claim will duplicate items for you. Whatever you do DO NOT fall for this, or any other third party scams in gw. The person making them, and distributing them will get in major trouble, but so will you for intentionally using them to hack gw.
We in SPX wish to remain legit, and trustworthy. :)

hmm...I wonder, if someone had a dupe program and didn't say much...and had pretty much a clean record, and only did this dupe program once (but enough to make a ton of each item) could he be traced?
I know they say they check, but if your not using it, then could they find a way to find you? would they even try?
I mean it maybe a one shot deal, but if you can use the program atleast once, you have the best crap and max gold. And with out being caught red-handed, you got no one to say you did it. (they would have to check logs perhaps, but if no one knew...would they actually check? there are so many players....would they check someone with a perfect record?...)

Every action you do sends a packet to the GW servers. Whether it be walking or checking an item description.
When you use these dupe programs(if they do indeed work and aren't just keyloggers), you are forcefuly sending a packet telling the server that you are picking up that particular item and in return, the server sends a packet to your client, giving you the item.
Doing this once or twice can't be traced if you are in an area where the item you're duping is common, but hte problem is, people who resort to cheating don't do so in moderation and are easily traced as I'm sure the Dev's keep an eye on the packets sent to the server and sent to the player.
And with the rampant hackfest that is Diablo2/bnet/blizzard in general, I'm certain arena net has learned to keep a VERY close eye on their players every action. I don't know any of the powers Dev's have. As far as I know, they can be on any map, instanced or not, invisible to the player, watching your every move or be able to view multiple players at once, ala Omnipresent powers. I'm certain they're client is different then ours, with different functions. Though we will never know.
To summarize, I'm certain they check everyone, clean record or not. :p

Well, I dont recommend duping ever. But if one of you stumbles across any legit hacks let me know. Ill report them, and end their rain of haxxing!
